Indicative Content
Module content, organisation and structure
The module will start by discussing what child mental health is, before moving into content on child mental health problems. The module will also cover non-clinical, common psychological difficulties that children experience. Common childhood mental health problems will be covered in detail, including aetiology, epidemiology, symptoms, signs, assessment and intervention. The impact of child mental health problems on family and society will also be covered.

Assessment Description:
Case Study & Presentation: This will be a group work exercise. Students will be asked to design a case study, give information about how a child is presenting, what the mental health problem is, provide information on the problem surrounding its signs, symptoms, assessment and treatment and support plan. Students will be required to give a 10-15 minute presentation and submit a 1500 word report on the case.
