Overview of lifelong learning and the importance in Education. Three contexts of learning; Experience and learning, Learning society.
The evolution of Lifelong Learning in Ireland
Contextualising the development of professional competences in early childhood education and adult education in Ireland respectively. Globalisation; Diversity; changing needs in the workplace; National access plan; Smart economy; continuous professional development.
Building a reflective portfolio
Portfolio design and management; reflective questioning; portfolio assessment.

Each learning statement will include an introductory section that highlights the learner's understanding of the principles of and contemporary issues in lifelong learning.
