An MA/MSc qualification in a business and/or technology discipline is the minimum requirement to teach this module. Ideally, lecturers should have experience in conducting Business Analysis and should be thoroughly familiar with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK). Lecturers should also have experience in assessing group projects.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Assessment Description:
In this assignment, learners will be required to carry out two to three requirements elicitation techniques based on a small project. For example, a student will be required to elicit requirements for a new mobile App, for a new website for a start-up company, or an upgrade to a company's internal systems. The sample techniques expected to be used include, but are not restricted to, the following: Interview, Prototyping, Brainstorming, Document Analysis, SWOT Analysis, PEST Analysis, Financial Analysis, Bench Marking and Market Analysis, Mind Mapping, Observation. It is the intention of this assignment that learners will be provided with detailed feedback along with their grade. Learners will be required to show in the end-of-semester project how they will have reflected on their assignment and feedback to enhance their requirements elicitation techniques. Sample assessments are provided separately in this document.

Assessment Description:
The end of semester Project will be a group activity consisting of three to five learners per group. Learners will be given a scenario where they will use BABOK techniques to elicit detailed requirements. Learners will also be required to demonstrate analysis, specification, modelling, organisation, and verification of the requirements. The deliverable here is a Requirements Specification document. Learners will also submit a short (1,000 - 1,500) report outlining justification of techniques used, challenges encountered and overcome, and reflections on the business analysis process. Learners will also be required to show the contribution of each participant to the project as each student will be graded separately. Sample assessment are provided separately in this document.
