On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Demonstrate an understanding of project management by explaining the key concepts, approaches, and frameworks.
LO2 Utilise contemporary frameworks and processes involved in managing a project through the project lifecycle via live projects and/or planning for the Capstone Project.
LO3 Implement industry standard structured techniques for planning, controlling, and reviewing projects
LO4 Evaluate the risks associated with a project and use a process of risk management for projects.
LO5 Implement and synthesise relevant frameworks such as Critical Path Analysis to manage a project.
LO6 Critically assess people issues and the teamwork dynamics in project management.

Assessment Description:
Learners will be required to work in teams to apply project management techniques to achieve a project proposal. Teams will be asked to provide the following: A justification for the use of Project Management, Detailed Work Breakdown Structure, Network diagram, Project plan, Initial Project Risk Register and Proposal to the Project Owner as to the reasons why Project Management is appropriate. Each group will also make a final presentation towards the end of the semester to present their key findings and evaluate their own performance as a team over the semester.

Reassessment Description
Learners are required to achieve an overall grade of 40% in the module. If a student fails to meet a particular discrete learning outcome, they will be required to repeat the assessment component which contains that particular learning outcome. This module is reassessed solely based on re-submitted coursework. There is no repeat written examination.
